Divorces granted
Donna M. Lucas, 111 Schuylkill Mountain Road, North Manheim Township, was granted a divorce from Michael J. Lucas Sr., 70 Ridge Road, Barnesville. They were married Oct. 2, 1993.
Joseph R. Meiss, 111 E. Foothills Drive, Drums, Luzerne County, was granted a divorce from Angela J. Meiss, 9 South St., Tamaqua. They were married Sept. 2, 2000.
Kelly J. Feeko, 55 Brandon Road, Sheppton, was granted a divorce from John N. Feeko, Lumberton, N.C. They were married Sept. 18, 1987.
Amy S. Buckhart was granted a divorce from John T. Fenstermacher II, both of Pottsville. They were married May 27, 2002.
Kimberlee A. Dreisbach, Klingerstown, was granted a divorce from Thomas Dreisbach Jr., Milton. They were married Aug. 28, 2009.
Monica L. Heffner, Schuylkill Haven, was granted a divorce from John P. Heffner, Orwigsburg. They were married May 23, 2008.
Todd Teasenfitz, Ashland, was granted a divorce from Tracy Teasenfitz, Frackville. They were married June 26, 2004.
File for divorce
Jan Marie Balmat started a divorce action against David Balmat, both of 14 Rattlesnake Lane, Andreas, West Penn Township. They were married May 17, 2008.
School taxes
Tamaqua Area School District filed suit against Tyrone K. and Lynn A. Zancofski seeking a judgment levied on a property at 65 Mahanoy St., Tamaqua, on which the school district claims $717.55 is owed in back school taxes.
Mortgage default
Bank of America, Plane, Tex., filed suit against A. Douglas Betz alleging he has defaulted mortgage payments on the property at 320 Clark St., Tamaqua, claiming $34,920.70 is the principal amount owed plus interest and costs.
Property dispute
James and Christine Berger, 9 S. Market St., New Ringgold, filed suit against Philip Harley, 15 S. Market St., New Ringgold, claiming an alleged property line violation.
Berger alleges he planted trees six feet inside the boundary line between his property and Harley's and on Sept. 28, Harley allegedly cut down the trees.
The Bergans are seeking damages under $50,000.
Child abuse case
A jury found Kevin Jones, 49, Pottsville, guilty of sexually abusing a boy from age 11 to 17.
He was found guilty of two counts each of having involuntary deviate sexual intercourse , indecent assault, corruption of a minor, incest, incest with a minor, and endangering the welfare of a child.
President Judge William E. Baldwin deferred sentence and ordered Jones undergo an evaluation by state's sexual offenders board to determine if Jones was a sexual violent predator.
Guilty of assault
Ronnie Jenkins, 32, who was an inmate at the state correctional facility in Mahanoy Township when the incident occurred, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault of a correctional officer.
Testimony at the trial was that when being escorted to a shower stall he tossed a carton containing human body fluids which splattered over the face and clothing of the guard.
Judge John E. Domalakes ordered a pre-sentence investigative report prepared by the adult probation department. Jenkins was serving a three to six year sentence imposed in another county. He has been transferred to Graterford State Correctional Institution, near Philadelphia.
Enters plea
Robert John Weiss, 27, Pottsville, entered a general plea of guilty to a charge of criminal conspiracy to commit theft. Judge Charles M. Miller accepted the plea and deferred sentencing to Monday, Nov. 19.
Weiss was charged by Pottsville Patrolman Renee Galle, with conspiring with his girlfriend, who was a bartender at the Eagle Social Club, by taking $420 in cash from the register at closing time.
Treasurer's report
County Treasurer Jacqueline McGovern reported the balance of all county accounts at the end of September was $49,689, 272.02, deposits for the month totaled $8,708,651.30 and expenditures, $9 152,157.74.
Real Estate Taxes collected for the same period was $566,348.29; funded debt tax, $30,668.64; and per capita tax, $6,m131.53.
Other revenues were, fees from the eight magisterial district justices offices, $60,749.27; 9-1-1 tariff on land and cell phones, $59,082.14; department earnings for 9-1-1 were $626.70; and hotel tax, $24,376,72.
