Help bring Christmas spirit to military families

In today's busy world, the emphasis on quality family time is becoming more and more of an everyday necessity. There are articles and websites dedicated to how to balance family and life in general - and get the most out of it. Well, here is one specific idea that your readers can support and do together as a family. It's called the Trees for Troops program.

Trees for Troops is a program ran by the nonprofit Christmas SPIRIT Foundation along with corporate partner FedEx Corp. The program has delivered more than 103,000 Real Christmas Trees to military families across the nation and around the world in the past seven years. Our Christmas tree farm, Yenser's Tree Farm has supported this effort by having a drop FedEx trailer on our retail lot where customers may purchase a tree for a military family and place it on the trailer.

Trees for Troops is a perfect way for families to come together to help military families. Spend some time together as a family on a Christmas tree farm or lot picking out that perfect real Christmas tree for a military family. Then write your email address on one of the specially designed tags for that military family to send you a note or photos with their tree. You can also write messages to military families on the Trees for Troops website www.treesfortroops.org, and see photos as well.

So the next time your family is looking for something fun, worthwhile and meaningful, head to your local Christmas tree farm and help spread the Spirit of Christmas - one tree at a time.
