John Harkins a special man

Dear Editor:

Thanks to David Wargo on his article on Mr. (John)Harkins.

I also had Mr. Harkins for a teacher and he had a big impact on me. I last saw him four years ago at a PV football scrimmage I attended to watch my son Alex play who attends Palmerton.

Mr. Harkins took the time to say hello and ask about me and my kids. He cared for his students when they were not only in class but for their entire lives and he will be missed.
