Stop being a spectator

Dear Editor:

I am sure there are Lansford residents who read Mr. Silvers's letter with profound interest. Unfortunately, the letter contained misinformation, distortions, accusations and some little actual fact. I will not rebut his letter.

However, I am in the borough office just about every day after 10 a.m. and would be happy to try to answer residents questions or they may attend our council meetings which are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the borough meeting room, 1 W. Ridge St.

Spectators sitting in the stands at sporting events enjoy the freedom of catcalling and second guessing calls by those in charge. Mr. Silver, this spring, there will be several council seats open in the primary election. Please put your name on a petition. Stop being a spectator making catcalls and booing. Try to help solve a problem, not being one. Or, maybe you are not up to having people critically judge you or your decisions. Yes, I know you served a stint as mayor.

The issues presently facing the borough are those that must be solved by the ELECTED council body in a cooperative, intelligent, and non-combative manner. A sufficient, knowledgeable, supportive office staff is also necessary. There is not much time left to right the wrongs of this year. Will this happen? Only time will tell.
