Woman, son injured in crash

A woman and her toddler son were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday along Morea Road in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Mya R. McAndrew, 25, of Barnesville, was driving a 2015 Ford Fiesta eastbound when she lost control while negotiating a left turn.

The Ford started to slide sideways across the fog line and shoulder. It continued to slide west, entering a grassy, wooded area, where it struck a tree.

After impact with the tree, the rear of the Ford slid out and hit a tree against the rear right side wheel, where it came to rest.

McAndrew and her 2-year-old son were transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - East Norwegian Street, Pottsville Campus with unknown injuries.

McAndrew will be cited for the crash and for registration card violations.
