The prospective bridegroom is the son of Barry L. and Cynthia A. Messerschmidt of Hometown.
He is a 1997 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School. He is currently employed as a regional sales manager for Bullard in Cynthiana, Ky.
A wedding is being planned for Sept. 8 of this year.
