Hazleton man identified in car vandalism incident

A Hazleton man has been identified as a suspect in a vandalism case that caused more than $5,000 in damages to several vehicles at Rottet Motors, 117 S. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, at the beginning of 2017.

Four vehicles were reportedly scratched with a key or other sharp object between 11 a.m. Dec. 30 and 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1. A review of security camera footage shows two men, one wearing a yellow "hoodie" and the other in a black hoodie, walking between the parked cars.

The camera shows the man in black with his right arm extended, using an object in his hand to scratch a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. the other damaged vehicles include a 2015 Ford Fusion, a 2017 Ford Expedition and a 2013 Ford Escape.

The man in the black hoodie is identified as Travis J. Fanning, 28, of 1041 N. James St., Hazleton. He faces charges of criminal mischief.
