Thorpe's Robinson nominated to McDonald's All-American team
Jim Thorpe girls basketball player Celeste Robinson was recently selected as one of 600 nationally recognized nominees for the McDonald's All American High School Basketball team. The nominees were selected by high school coaches, athletic directors, principles and members of the McDonalds All American Games Selection Committee. Robinson was honored at a special ceremony before the start of the Jim Thorpe-Pottsville game on Feb. 3. The McDonald's All American Games, which take place on March 28 at Chicago's United Center, will feature 24 boys and 24 girls from around the country. Robinson, who recently became the school's all-time leading scorer, is the first Jim Thorpe High School player to ever receive a McDonald's nomination.
