Three Tamaqua residents cited in separate drug cases
Three people were cited on drug related charges in three separate incidents last week.
Douglas J. Schartel, 35, of Tamaqua, was cited on Jan. 30 after he was found to have a syringe in his pocket while being taken to the local district magistrate's office by a constable.
He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dane K. Lowell, 19, of Arlington Street, Tamaqua, was picked up by a constable on Feb. 1 to be transported to the magistrate's office. His right front pocket contained a glass jar, which Lowell admitted contained marijuana.
He was cited for possession of a controlled substance.
Daniel J. Dannenfelser, 41, of 11 Cherry St., Tamaqua, was cited after employees at the Tamaqua Subway became concerned about his actions on Feb. 1. Dannenfelser was making weird noises, crying and his body kept jerking. He kept telling the officer he "had nothing" drug-related on him, but a tin containing two syringes was found in his backpack.
He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
