The Rev. David W. Grant has recently returned to his childhood parish, Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland, to become pastor. Both the pastor and his wife, Susan, were baptized and confirmed in the parish. In 1958, he was received as a Student in Care for Ministry by the former Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church and was ordained in December 1968 at St. Paul's UCC, Sacramento, Pa. The Rev. Grant returned to Schuylkill County in 1987 when he was called to the pastorate of the Hegins Valley Charge of the UCC. In January of 1994, he was elected Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tamaqua and served there until his retirement from full time ministry in July 2011, at which time he was named Pastor Emeritus. David is married to the former Susan S. Yost, a retired Nurse Practitioner. They have a blended family of seven young adults along with 12 grandchildren. The grants reside in Frackville.
