The engagement of Alissa Ann Byerley, daughter of Lynn and Nancy Byerley of Palmerton, to Christopher Ryan Mathisen, son of Thomas and Cathie Mathisen of Lehighton, has been announced by her parents.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Palmerton Area High School. She has a bachelor of science degree from Lebanon Valley College in biochemistry and molecular biology. She earned a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine. She is employed as a physical therapist for Blue Mountain Health Systems.
The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Lehighton Area High School and a 2012 graduate of Penn State Hazleton, in the physical therapy assistant degree. He is employed as a sous chef at Blue Rige Country Club.
The wedding will take place this summer.
