Graduates summa cum laude from LCCC
Kaitlyn Keich, daughter of John and Jeanine Keich of Hometown, graduated summa cum laude from Lehigh Carbon Community College with an associate of arts degree in Education. She earned a 4.0 grade point average and was awarded the Professor William L.F. and Mary Joan Schmehl Political Science Organization Award as the student who has demonstrated excellence in political science and history, who has made significant contributions to the college and the community.
While attending LCCC, Keich was a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education; the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges; graduated from the Disney College Internship Program in Orlando, Fla.; spent one semester working at Walt Disney World as a character performer; and was selected to be a Disney College Campus Representative.
The 2010 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School plans to further her education at Kutztown University, majoring in Secondary Education and History and has been awarded the Roberta and Ernest Scheller Jr. Family Foundation Scholarship.
