Jeep rolls onto side in crash

Two Coaldale residents escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash at 8:13 a.m., Dec. 31, along State Route 100 in Lowhill Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Wilfredo Frets, 53, was driving the vehicle, a 2003 Jeep Liberty, when the vehicle went out of control due to black ice on the roadway. The vehicle was southbound at the time. It rolled onto its driver's side.

With him at the time was Leslie A. Frets, 43.

Police said they were assisted at the scene by the Germansville Fire Company, Northwestern EMS and Soley's Towing.
