Not a time to trim military
Dear Editor:
There's talk about thinning our military. I wonder if it is a wise thing to weaken our country at this time.
We still have to worry about North Korea, the Afghans, Iran and pirates.
Plus there's enough unemployed now without increasing it.
Also, these cities and states have to stop financing sports and building places for them. If they're making so much and paying such crazy wages to players they can afford to build their own.
Take the money from sports and put it into education. The kids need it more.
I am not against sports but I think it's just getting out of hand. Not to mention the prices for tickets, food and other things people buy when they go to games, like $2,800 for a Super Bowl ticket. Really?
I remain,
