Food pantry
The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E.C. Church will be open on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 9-11 a.m. Recipients must reside within the Jim Thorpe Area School District and fall within TEFAP income guidelines.
The pantry is located at 441 Center Ave. in Jim Thorpe. Please park in the Cherry Avenue parking lot and enter through the rear entrance.
Carbon County ranks the third highest of unemployment in the state. Please consider donating food items to the bin in the lobby of the Jim Thorpe Market to help keep families in Jim Thorpe affected by unemployment from going hungry.
Touchdown Club
The Jim Thorpe Touchdown Club will meet on Monday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. in the commons area of the high school. Anyone interested in the Jim Thorpe football program is invited to attend the monthly meetings and help with the upcoming projects of the club.
Bloodmobile
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 1-6 p.m. Donors must be 17 years of age and older.
Community supper
The next scheduled free community supper will be on Sunday, Feb. 26. The meal this month is beef stew and will be served from 4-6 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street.
