Thankful for the funding

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Kidder Township Board of Supervisors, the Kidder Township Community, and all our emergency services units (the police department, three fire companies and ambulance rescue squad), I want to publicly thank Carbon Commissioners Nothstein, O'Gurek and Getz (now retired) and Gerhard for their efforts.

They were able to procure $907,000 of grant funding to help meet the onerous costs to each Carbon County Municipality for the unfunded federal "Narrow Band Communications" mandate requiring the replacement and/or cost for the mandated upgrade but will cover from 70 to 80 percent of those costs at a time when every expense is a problem and our budgets are strained to their limits.
