Vavra sets records at Big Ten meet
Indiana senior Allysa Vavra continued her conference domination in the individual medley events, setting a new Big Ten meet record en route to victory in the 200 IM on day two of the 2012 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City, Iowa.
Vavra took the field out in the 200 individual medley and never looked back in capturing her second-straight conference crown in the event. In addition to the meet record, Vavra's time of 1:55.44 also set a school record, a pool record, and a Big Ten Record. The time was also good enough to automatically qualify Vavra for the NCAA Championships in the event.
Vavra, a Panther Valley High School graduate, now owns the five fastest times in Indiana University history in the event.
