March 3, 2001 Northern Lehigh's Herzog twins, Jared and Justin, both capture gold medals at the Class AA Southeast Regionals. Jared Herzog, at 112 pounds, defeats Jim Collins of Northern Lebanon by a 3-2 score in the finals. Herzog had lost to Collins earlier in the season but gets some revenge by handing the Viking wrestler his first loss of the season. Justin Herzog, at 119, also claims a title by earning an 8-5 decision over Bob Frey of Wilson. Frey also had defeated Justin earlier in the season.
