Clothes lines not a thing of the past

Dear Editor:

I thoroughly enjoyed your article about clothes lines, until I got to the last paragraph.

Your statement about there probably aren't any clothes line in the entire TN area is not entirely true.

I have four clothes lines in my backyard that still use every spring, summer andfall, just like your mother! In fact, when we moved into our house 12 years ago, I insisted that my husband put up clothes lines come spring! Which he did. In fact, I have several neighbors that have clothes also.

I love the scent of my clothes and sheets after drying on the clothes line.

My daughter also hangs her laundry out to dry. My son, well, he appreciates mom hanging his out when he is home for a visit!

So Mr. Urban, clothes lines are not a thing of the past, yet. Take a better look, in Palmerton at least!

Now, can you explain why women of you mother/grandmother, hung clothes out to dryand then proceeded to 'sprinkle' it with water, roll it up, place it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator?
