Lehighton sweeps Panther Valley
Lehighton handed Panther Valley losses in both baseball and softball over the weekend.
BASEBALL
Lehighton-Panther Vy.
Steve Shanton, A.J. Wenrich and Josh Kern had big days at the plate as the Indians scored in every inning but the first in a 10-4 win over the Panthers.
Shanton went two-for-four with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Wenrich also had two hits, one RBI and scored a run and Kern had two hits, a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Jake Szczecina led the Panthers with a single and double, a run scored and one RBI, while Colton Black added two hits and two runs scored and Luke Stano had two hits and a run scored. Nick McArdle and Zach King added RBI singles.

The Zephyrs jumped out to a four-run lead and then held on for a 6-4 non-league win over the Bears.
Rob Getz led Pleasant Valley with two doubles and a single, while Adrian Concepcion also added a pair of hits.
Zachary Delp had two hits and two RBIs for Whitehall.

SOFTBALL
Lehighton-Panther Vy.
The Lady Indians made quick work of the Panthers in picking up a 18-1 win in four innings.
Julianna Evans struck out four and also helped her own cause, finishing 3-for-4 with a RBI for the Indians. Teammate Krysten Breiner went three-for-four, scoring three runs,adding three RBIs and smacking a double. Brook Lucykanish was two-for-four, with a triple,four runs scored and four RBIs.
Sam Zlock had a double, while teammate Amy Corby tripled and scored the Panthers lone run on a wild pitch.
