Palmerton gets baseball and softball wins
Palmerton picked up wins in both baseball and softball against Catasauqua on Monday afternoon in scholastic sports action.
BASEBALL

Tanner Gutekunst drilled a two-run triple in the bottom of the fifth inning to lift Palmerton to a 6-5 Colonial League victory over visiting Catasauqua.
Gutekunst was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle as he finished with a single, double, triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Teammate Mike Sander added multiple hits with three singles and two RBIs.
James Snyder led the Roughies with a single, triple and a run scored.
Palmerton moved to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the league.

Tamaqua-Tri-Valley
After starting off with a four-run first inning, Tamaqua couldn't match Tri-Valley's scoring output and dropped a 13-8 non-conference win on the road.
Devon Masser paced the Bulldogs with a single, double and four RBIs.
Dylan DeLay led the Blue Raiders with a single, homerun, two runs scored and two RBIs, while Brett Kosciolek recorded a single, double and two runs scored. Teammate Bo Rottet finished with a single, double and a run scored.
Adam Bates added a two-run double for the Blue Raiders in the sixth inning.
Tamaqua slipped to 1-5 overall on the season.

Palmerton rallied for a eight-run sixth inning to score a 11-8 come-from-behind Colonial League victory over visiting Catasauqua.
Janel Tracy sparked the Bombers' offense with solo homeruns in the third and fifth innings. Steph Brinker added a two-run shot to tie the game in the sixth, while Lauren Campbell put the finishing touches on the win with a grand slam.
Ashley Lalik paced the Bombers (5-1, 3-1) with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, which included three singles and a run scored. Tracy finished with two homeruns, three runs scored and two RBIs, while Sierra Miller chipped in with two singles, a run scored and a RBI.
The Rough Riders' Ally Geseck (homerun, triple, two runs scored, RBI) and Paige Kogelman (single, triple, run scored and RBI) ended up with multiple hitters.

Schuylkill Haven routed Jim Thorpe in three innings for a 15-0 Schuylkill League victory.
Emily Gerhard, who also scored the win on the mound, helped herself out offensively by leading the Hurricanes with a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate. She finioshed with two triples, a double and a single.
Teammate Victoria Trout went 3-for-3 with a triple and two doubles, while Emma Schweigert added a homerun and a single.

Tri-Valley got the best of Tamaqua in four innings for a 15-0 victory.
Miranda Morgan led the Bulldogs with two singles, a homerun and two RBIs, while Juli Weber added a single, double and two RBIs. Teammate Taylor Troutman also had multiple hits with a single and a double.
Arissa Deibert held the Blue Raiders' bats in check pitching a no-hitter on her way to the win.
