Publicity helped make event a success

Dear Editor:

I want to thank you for your article on "The Bell of the Ball" held at Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. Your article informed many people and helped to make this event a success. Through your support and the help of many communities we collected around 300 gowns and gave away 200 gowns (plus shoes, purses and jewelry).

People came from White Haven, Drums, Weatherly, Hazleton, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Lansford, Palmerton, Pine Grove, Tamaqua and Mahanoy City.

Everyone who came left with the "perfect" gown and many words of thanks and gratitude.

Those of us who worked the event cannot put into words how much it meant to us.

We hope to continue "Bell of the Ball" each year.
