April 24, 1964 Dave Malkin tosses a two-hit shutout to help Lansford open Hughie McGeehan League play with a 4-0 win over Freeland. Malkin, who walks seven batters but also strikes out 11, aids his own cause with a hit and run scored. Don Jones triples home John Zubek with the game's first run in the fourth inning to give the Panthers, coached by Vince Spisak, the lead. Jones also finishes the contest with two runs scored.
