April 18, 1983 Kevin Bell and Kris Krome both win three events to help Pleasant Valley gain a Centennial League sweep of Lehighton. Bell earns first in the 100 and 300 hurdles and the long jump to aid the boys' 85-65 victory. Mark Haydt (800, 1600) and Dennis Altemose (shot put, discus) contribute to the win with a pair of firsts. In the girls meet, Krome cops the 100, 200 and triple jump as the Bears cruise to a 110-31 win. Double winners include Sheri Papcsy (300 hurdles, long jump) and Connie Kern (800, 1600).
