The Pyramid Sports Performance Center in Lehighton is partnering with Carbon County SAFE Kids, SAFE Kids USA and Johnson & Johnson to provide parents, coaches, and young athletes with the practical information and tools in order to reduce the many sports-related injuries to America's athletes.
Two sport safety clinics have been scheduled for Wednesday, May 23rd, and Tuesday, July 31st, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Pyramid Sports Performance Center, 230 Ochre Street, in Lehighton. The sport safety clinics are free, open to the public, and are geared for the coaches and parents of young athletes from pre-school through eighth grade.
Major themes to be covered at the clinics include: pre-participation physical evaluations, overuse and acute sports injury prevention, proper hydration habits, concussion prevention, recognition and response, and the proper and consistent use of sports safety equipment. All clinic attendees will receive free giveaways and can register for a free drawing.
Assisting with the clinic Power Point presentation will be Pyramid Sports Performance personnel: Steve Strauss, Director of Sports Performance; Brian Fetterman, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach; Rob Mikulski, Sports Performance Coach and Assistant Football Coach at East Stroudsburg University; and Tim Kocher, Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
