File for divorce

Michael Anthony Ciccozzi, 36 Market St., Kelayres, started a divorce action against Elizabeth A. Ciccozzi, 1188 SR940, Harleigh, Luzerne County. They were married April 21, 1995.

Divorces granted

Glenn E. Konsavage was granted a divorce from Donna M. Konsavage, both of Auburn. They were married Aug. 15, 1985.

Ruth L. Croft, Tower City, was granted a divorce from Charles Croft Jr., Williamstown. They were married Nov. 14, 1998.

Kellen M. Scheifley, Pottsville, was granted a divorce from Joseph S. Scheifley, New Kingston. They were married Sept. 18, 1993.

Sentenced

Brandon Scott Hosier, 28, formerly of 44 Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to a number of charges filed by Tamaqua Police. He was sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell to serve 24 to 60 months in a state correctional facility.

On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, filed by Patrolman Matthew Houser he received a one to 12 month sentence; on a charge of robbery of a cell phone belonging Gabriel Bumberger which occurred in front of the Train Statin last Dec. 14 as charged by Patrolman Anthony Stanell, he was sentenced to serve 12 to 24 months and make restitution of $25 to the victim; and on a charge of theft of personal property belonging to Jason Riegel, 533 Arlington St., as charged by Patrolman Karl Harig, he received a concurrent sentence of one to 12 months and make restitution of $250 to the victim.

William P. Baronofsky, 50, Quakertown, who pleaded guilty last April to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbn to be placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) on probation for six months, including 30 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a fine of $750, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to MCARE fund, a $50 monthly supervision fee, complete the alcohol highway safety school, receiving outpatient treatment, perform 20 hours community service, license suspended 12 months and when restored an ignition interlock device must be installed on the vehicle to monitor any intake of alcohol. Baronofsky was cited by Rush Township Patrolman Richard Bekesy, when stopped on May 13, 2011, on Plaza Drive.

Michael Charles Helt Jr., 31, Minersville, who pleaded guilty last April to charges of simple assault and recklessly endangering a 15 year old youth, was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to serve three months on probation, pay a fine of $50, pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account fund, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, and have no contact with the victim. Helt was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R Bowers, on August 12, 2011, of shoving the juvenile through a glass storm door.

Edward Joseph Miller Jr., 51, Pottsville, who was found guilty by a jury on June 6 was sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin to serve seven and one-half to 15 years in a state correctional facility with credit for serving 220 days in the county prison. He was found guilty of charges of escaping from custody of Pottsville police for a short time, vandalizing a police car, criminal mischief by breaking a side window glass and simple assault. He also must make restitution of $1,297 to Pottsville Police Department.

Bench warrant

Melanie M. Zimmerman, 27, Shenandoah, had her bench warrant dissolved by Judge Domalakes and bail set at $1,000 percentage cash with certain conditions: Must reside at a residence where the owner or tenant must provide verification of address given defendant permission to reside at that location; must not relocate without prior permission from court; must not possess or consume alcohol or illegal drugs and must attend all future court proceedings.

Zimmerman was brought in on a warrant after she failed to appear at the courthouse last May 25 for a pre-trial hearing before Judge Baldwin. She faces prosecution on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia as brought by Shenandoah Capt. George Carado.

Revoke probation

Brian S. Radle, 36, Shermansville, had his probation revoked by Judge Dolbin and he was re-sentenced to serve 90 days to five years in the county prison with credit for serving 66 days. His maximum date of release was moved to April 11, 2017. He was sentenced on a DUI of alcohol charge.

Robert M. Valentine, 44, Schuylkill Haven, had his probation revoked by Judge Dolbin and he was re-sentenced on two counts of theft to serve five to 12 months in the county prison

Cory Simpson, 23, Pottsville, had her parole revoked by Judge Baldwin and her 237 days of liberty were disallowed and she was recommitted to the county prison to serve the balance of her sentence on charges of manufacturing illegal drugs.
