Borough news

The annual water reports for the Jim Thorpe Borough have been mailed to the residents. If you did not receive one and would like one, please call the borough office, at (570) 325-3025.

The borough council has announced that there is a position on the Civil Service Commission and any resident of the borough interested should send a letter of interest to the borough office. They are also looking for part-time police officers. Applications can be picked up at the borough office and the deadline for both is July 14.Volunteers

The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help with the bloodmobile, when it is stationed in town. If you are interested in helping in some way, please call Judy Smith, (570) 325-3843.

Bible school

The Jim Thorpe Ministerium Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 23-27 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6th and North Streets. The theme this year is Amazing Desert Journey.

Volunteers are needed to help in any way. High school students may use this as part of their graduation projects.
