Local students attains perfect 4.0

Rachel C. Sverchek, Lehighton, was recently notified that she attained a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the spring semester while a student in the Park School of Business of Ithaca College. Rachel is majoring in international business and has attained the dean's list every semester at Ithaca.

Rachel is a member of the Oracle Honor Society and the Sigma Epsilon Society, a business honor society. She is also a member of the American Marketing Association. During the spring semester, she was also inducted into Ithaca College's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business school accredited by AACSB. AACSB is the highest recognition and certification a school of business can receive in the United States.

Rachel will begin her senior year this fall. She previously interned with the Jim Thorpe National Bank and is currently interning with a local sign company in Ithaca for the summer.

Rachel is the daughter of Mark and Anne Sverchek of Lehighton and the granddaughter of the late John and Veronica Sverchek of Lansford and the late William and Anna Corkill of Jim Thorpe.
