Mahoning Valley couple wed 70 years

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Frey of Mahoning Valley are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary today. They were married on July 5, 1941 by the late Rev. Arthur P. Snyder at St. Peter's Church, Mantzville, where they remain active members.

Mrs. Frey is the daughter of the late Verna and Daniel Miller of Mantzville. Mr. Frey is the son of the late Ethel and Elmer Frey of Mahoning Valley.

The couple are the parents of five children: Carol, wife of James Beers, Schnecksville; Ruthann, wife of Robert Wehr, Andreas; Laverne, wife of Merle Hunsicker, Lehighton; Robert, Lehighton; and Margie, wife of Dennis Hallman, also of Lehighton.

They have 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great granddaughters.

A family picnic celebration was hosted in their honor by their children on the farm of Ruthann and Robert Wehr.
