State police at Fogelsville
State police at Fogelsville have reported on the following traffic incidents.
• Christopher A. Arcand, 26, of Tamaqua, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, following a two-vehicle crash at 7:21 p.m.Monday at the intersection of Route 100 and Orchard Road in Lowhill Township.
Arcand was driving a 2014 Ford Escape northbound and was unable to stop in time for another northbound vehicle in front of his, operated by Bobbi-Jo L. Davis, 28, of Northampton, who was slowing down to make a right-hand turn onto Orchard Road. Police said the Escape struck the rear of Davis' 1999 Chevrolet S10. The Escape was towed from the scene while the S10 was drivable. No one was injured.
• Shawn H. Eibell, 29, of Kutztown, was cited for failure to stop for a stop or yield sign after a two-vehicle crash at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 17 at the intersection of Schochary and Holbens Valley roads in Lynn Township. Police said he was driving a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville that pulled into the intersection in front of a 2000 Chevrolet G1500 that was westbound on Holbens Valley Road, causing the collision. No one was injured.
• A Sellersville man was uninjured after a car he was driving drove over a brake drum from a tractor trailer that was laying on Route 100 in Lowhill Township at 5 a.m.Monday. Police said Keith A. Kletzing, 55, was northbound and approaching the intersection with Orchard Lane when he was unable to avoid striking the brake drum in the right lane.
The incident resulted in damage to the undercarriage of Kletzing's 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, which traveled about 500 feet after striking the object and came to a controlled stop on the east berm of the road.
