Lehighton couple celebrate 50 years
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Semmel
Carole and Richard Semmel of Lehighton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married on Sept. 16, 1961 by the Rev. Arthur Kleintop in St. John's Lutheran Church in Mahoning Valley.
Mrs. Semmel is the former Carole Kreitz, daughter of Betty Kreitz of Lehighton, and the late Edward Kreitz. Her husband is the son of the late Robert and Anna Semmel of Mahoning Township.
They have two sons: Mike and his wife Kim of Lehighton, and Rich and his wife Debbie of Graham, N.C.
They have five grandchildren.
The Semmels celebrated their special day with a small gathering of close friends and family at the home of their son Mike.
