Holiday Hair Salon hopes to raise $1 million to fight breast cancer

Holiday Hair Salon is joining the fight against breast cancer one haircut at a time.

Holiday Hair Salon, Carbon Plaza Mall, Lehighton, is one of the more than 7,400 Regis corporate salons across North America that is included in the annual Clip for the Cure event. To date, Regis stylists have raised $8 million for breast cancer research.

Part of the proceeds from every haircut at Holiday Hair on Saturday, Oct. 1 will be donated to the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

In addition, salons will be offering donation opportunities from Saturday, Oct. 1 through Monday, Oct. 31. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from private label product sales will be donated to the foundation.

Salons will be selling breast cancer awareness pins and pink bracelets, plus there will be opportunities for customers and businesses to donate to the foundation.

Pink products also will be available for purchase, including duffel bags, tumblers and reusable cups.

Through these efforts, Regis Corporation hopes to raise $1 million for the cause this year.

"People can get a great haircut and help find a cure," says manager Woody Snyder.

"This cause is very close to many of our clients and stylists because so many of us know someone who has been touched by the disease. We hope that through Clip for the Cure, more women will become aware of the disease and take preventive measures to detect it in its early stages. Most importantly, we hope that money we raise will eventually lead to a cure."
