Palmerton, Northern Lehigh and Pleasant Valley posted wrestling victories to highlight Wednesday's scholastic sports card.

WRESTLING

So. Lehigh-Palmerton

Palmerton picked up six pins and rolled to a 50-25 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.

Sam Oberlander (120), Dillon Masington (126), Zack Christman (138), Cody Grohotolski (152), Peter Dex (182), and Kane Kralik (220) all had pins for the Bombers. Jake Christman (170) added a technical fall.

Northern Lehigh picked up five forfeits and three pins en route to a 51-15 victory over Colonial League foe Salisbury.

The Bulldogs' quickest pin of the night belonged to Kyle Greenawalk, who pinned Ed Denver in 41 seconds. Teammates Kyle Baumann and Ty Herzog also won via a pin.

The only other Bulldog to win on the mat was Ryan Rubio in the 106-pound class. He earned a 4-2 decision over Nick Scarcia.

Kenny Yanovich, Sean Bianco, James Felipa, Michael Dahlstrom, Alex Yanovich, Hunter Deihl and Dominick Ammirato all wound up with falls under a minute for the Bears.

Panther Valley jumped out to a commanding first quarter lead and rolled to a 63-30 non-league victory over Freeland MMI.

The Panthers (3-1), who led 16-2 after one quarter of play, got great balance. Sam Zlock scored a game-high 14 points to lead PV, Brittany Cunfer added 12 points, Madison Blasko had 10 points, Abbey Whilden had nine points, and Mary Jane Thomas chipped in eight.

Catasauqua held Lehighton to four points in both the first and third quarters and went on to defeat the Indians, 54-43, in non-league play.

Anthony Rossino and Tyler Crum each scored 12 points to lead Lehighton (0-6).

Catty's Jared Strong led all scorers with 16 points.
