Son is charged with assault
Pocono Mountain Regional Police said Justin Remollino, 18, of Long Pond, has been incarcerated after an assault that took place at 8:09 a.m. June 27 at the family's home at 2812 Crystal Drive, Emerald Lakes, Long Pond.
He was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats and committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
Police said the arrest was made after they were summoned to the residence, learning the son used a knife he secured from the kitchen area to go on the rampage against his parents after an argument with his father, Juan Rodriguez, 40, concerning the defendant not helping with household chores.
Police said Justin pushed open a bedroom door, hitting Juan's wife, Debra Rodriguez, 39, in the hand. Police said she sustained a small cut on her right hand. The boy then started swinging the knife at his father, yelling that he was going to kill him.
