Mahoning Township couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Larry K. Heffley of Mahoning Township recently celebrated their golden anniversary.

They were married by the Rev. Worman on Dec. 23, 1961, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville.

Mrs. Heffley is the former Roberta H. Hittner, daughter of William Hittner and Amelia Hittner of Kresgeville. Her husband is the son of Howard "Tim" Everett and Dolly Everett of Weissport.

The couple has four children, Sherryann Dally of Lehighton; Dean and Pam Heffley of Dover, Pa.; Doyle and Kellie Heffley of Palmerton; and David and Shelly Lee Yeakel of Lehighton. They also have eight grandchildren.

A party to celebrate the occasion was held Dec. 3.
