Playoffs to start

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) summer volleyball league concluded its regular season on Tuesday evening at Black Diamond Park in Coaldale.

Valley Athletic Supply clinched the first overall seed with a record of 33-3, while Sandstorm finished 29-7 to earn the second seed.

The semifinals will be played tonight with the title match slated for Aug. 9.

TUESDAY'S RESULTS

Diggers Wit Attitude-Scared Hitless

Scared Hitless won all three games against Diggers Wit Attitude 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

Ryan Blasko had 13 service points with seven aces for Scared Hitless.

Tyler Rother had nine points in Digger's loss.

Dunder Mifflin Coal-Sandstorm

Sandstorm took all three games against Dunder Mifflin Coal Region Branch 25-7, 27-25, 26-24.

Christa Mantz served 15 points in Sandstorm's win.

Kayla Staneck had eight service points for Dunder.

Valley Athletic Supply-Team Ram Rod

Valley Athletic Supply and Team Ram Rod played an exhibition match due to Team Ram Rod not having enough players.

Marshall Walters had 12 points and seven aces for Valley Athletic.
