Luzerne man found dead in vehicle

A Luzerne County man was found dead in his vehicle following an incident at an industrial park in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville identified the man as Joseph S. Kelly, 35, of Forty Fort.

According to troopers sometime overnight of Wednesday, Aug. 3, and Thursday, Kelly drove his 2011 Volkswagen Jetta behind a vacant industrial building at 61 Green Mountain Road, in the Humboldt Industrial Park, East Union Township. The vehicle was in a shipping dock area on the north side of the property and traveled at a high rate of speed before driving through guide rails and down a steep embankment.

The vehicle came to final rest north of Affinia, located at 62 Green Mountain Road. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the investigation into the incident is continuing.
