Hit-and-run crash solved in Tamaqua
A reported hit-and-run accident involving a utility pole in Tamaqua Wednesday, Aug. 10, was solved when the driver called police about 30 minutes later.
Officers received a report concerning the accident in the area of 321 W. Broad St. at 9:42 p.m. A witness described the striking vehicle as a black Dodge pick up truck.
At 10:15 p.m. David M. Valentine, 47, 127 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, called to report the incident. The only damage appeared to be the street light lens cover, which dropped to the ground and smashed.
