Rush taxes
The office of Rush Township Tax Collector Dolores Walck will be closed Aug. 16, from 9-11 a.m.
The office will be open that day from 6-8 p.m.
Additionally, as stated on the tax bills, the office will be closed on Aug. 9-10.
Bethany EC
The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery care is provided. Sunday school classes meet at 9:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, a worship service will be held at the Tamaqua ABC Hi-Rise, at 6 p.m. and TYM will get "Up Close and Personal" at 6 p.m.
Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, Prayer time at 8:30 a.m.; Wednesday, TYM meets at 6:30 p.m.
The Five Day Club will meet this week, Monday through Friday, at 10 a.m., at the North/Middle Ward Playground.
Library news
The Tamaqua Public Library has extended its annual book sale.
The event will continue for the next two weeks.
TEPTO
The Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will hold its first meeting of the 2010-2011 school year on Aug. 15.
In a departure from normal, the organization will meet in the Tamaqua Senior High School. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Parents of all students are welcome to attend.
