PV Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced its September activities. Starting Thursday, Sept. 1 there will be pay bingo at 11 a.m.

On Friday, Sept. 2 the group will enjoy a pool party at the Lehighton swimming pool for all centers.

Sept. 5 is Labor Day and the center is closed.

Sept. 6 there is a bus trip to the Mohegan Sun at 9:30 a.m. from CVS. Sept. 7 is Lottery Bingo at 11 a.m. and there will be a Sunshine meeting.

Sept. 8 blood pressure readings will be taken from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 9 is penny game at 11 a.m.

Sept. 12 everyone can play cards or shoot darts.

Sept. 13 there will be horse racing at 11 a.m.

Sept. 14 is the county picnic at the Lehighton Orioles from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. S

ept. 15 celebrate birthdays and play bingo at 11 a.m.

Sept. 16 shopping on the CCCT at 9:30 a.m. and the center will be closed.

Healing ministry

A bereavement group at St. Francis of Assisi in Nesquehoning is forming for anyone struggling with the grief process in the loss of a loved one, regardless if the loss is recent or happened a long time ago.

The fall session will begin Monday, Sept. 19 and will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. each Monday for a period of six weeks.

The group will meet in the St. Francis of Assisi Spiritual Library (under the rectory in New Columbus) at 15 East Garibaldi Ave.

This is a strictly confidential counseling session.
