Man charged with attempted murder

John Geisinger, 66, of Lower Macungie Township, was committed to the Lehigh County Prison, Allentown, following his arraignment Sept. 1 on a charge of attempted criminal homicide.

Police said he is being held on $1-million bail pendig a preliminary hearing.

State police at Fogelsville, who made the arrest, said they responded at 12:50 p.m. to the Geisinger residence where John's wife, Louella, reported she had been hit in the back of her head 4-5 times with a baseball bat by her husband.

The victim was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, to be treated for her innjuries.

Police located the accused at his place of employment, where they took him into custody and he was jailed after the arraignment.
