Summit Hill
Lions to meet
The first meeting of the season for the Summit Hill Lions Club will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. at the Parkview Inn.
Dr. Kenneth Vermillion, president, will be in charge. This will be his final meeting as president, ending a 10-year tenure. He and his wife, Roxane, are relocating to Florida.
Dinner will be served. Members planning to attend must make reservations.
The club's program committee recently developed the theme "Lions on the Move" for the upcoming season. Accordingly, each month, the club members will meet at a different location.
There will be no speaker for this meeting, as a recap of the club's summer's activities will be discussed and plans for the year will be presented. New leadership will be taking over following this meeting.
St. Paul Lutheran
St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, holds its Sunday Church School classes on Sundays at 9 a.m. The classes are non-denominational and all children ages 4 and older, regardless of religious affiliation, are welcome to attend. For more information, contact Tammy Faenza, (570) 645-6182.
On Sunday, Sept. 25, the weekly worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Presbyterian church
The Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, has returned to its regular hours of worship and Sunday school. The worship service time is 10:30 a.m. The Sunday school meetings will begin at 9:15 a.m. A fellowship time is observed following the services. Communion is observed on the first Sunday of each month.
Lansford
RCIA meeting
St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will hold preparatory meetings for any adult interested in receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and/or Confirmation during the Easter vigil. Known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), the meetings will take place on the first and third Sundays of each month at 9 a.m. in the conference room of the parish center, beginning Sunday, Oct. 2.
