Michael J. Barry, 40, of Ashland, was arrested by state police at the Frackville barracks on charges of harassment and disorderly conduct following an incident at 2 a.m. March 11 at the Ashland Bar and Grill.

Police said Barry was engaged in a verbal argument with a 33-year-old Shamokin resident, during which time he displayed a 10-inch knife and asked the victim to "go outside." Police said Barry was asked to leave the premises by the staff. A short time later, he returned to the bar, approached the victim and the two engaged in a physical altercation that had to be stopped by other patrons.
