Guilty plea

Katrina Joy Beesley, 26, Pottsville, who pleaded guilty last May 5 to theft of a donations container from A Plus Mini Mart, Pottsville, was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to serve 12 months on probation, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and make restitution of $18. The collection was for the benefit of funeral expenses for a person killed in an auto accident.

Held in contempt

Charles J. Bressler, 21, Cressona, was held in contempt by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine of a contempt order by violating a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order by contacting the victim, Holly Elizabeth Shoemaker. He spotted her at the entrance of the Cressona Mall while riding his bicycle and stopped and questioned her as to why she changed her phone number. The PFA stated he had to have no contact. He was fined $300 plus court costs.

Win appeals

Michael L. Baez, 165 W. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill, won his appeal from a summary conviction by a district justice of a charge of exceeding the maximum speed limit. The Commonwealth made a motion to nol pros the charge because of lack of prosecution and Judge Jacqueline Russell granted the motion. Baez was stopped on Interstate 81 in Delano Township.

Marlin S. Horan, 25, Ashland, won his appeal from a summary conviction of a charge of failing to obey a traffic signal on SR61 in Blythe Township. Russell granted the motion of the Commonwealth to nol pros the charge.

Daniel C. Tobash, Minersville, won his appeal from a charge of failing to show a driver's license as the charge was dismissed by Russell on a motion by the Comnmonwealth.

Randy Flynn, 47, Ithaca, N.Y., won his appeal from a charge of frailing to drive in the right lane on Interstate 81 when stopped in Delano Township. Russell granted the Commonwealth's motion to nol pros the charge.

Lose appeals

John E. Brown, 43, of 744 Main St., Nuremberg, North Union Township, withdrew his appeal from a summary conviction before a district judge and pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while his license was suspended-DUI related, and was sentenced by Russell to serve 60 days in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) under house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay $75 to hook up the system and a $12 fee for each day in the program. He also was fined $5,000 plus $104.50 costs.

Joel Shapiro, 44, Clark Summit, withdrew his appeal from a summary conviction and entered a guilty plea to a charge of failing to drive at a safe speed and was fined $25 plus $97.50 costs. He was stopped on Interstate 81 in Kline Township last May 11.

Ruben J. Revollo-Solares, 48, Lancaster, withdrew his appeal from a summary conviction and pleaded guilty to careless driving and was fined $25 plus $97.50 costs.

Andrew Michael Via, 29, Lebanon, failed to appear for his hearing on his appeal from a summary conviction and Russell found him guilty of exceeding the maximum speed limit in Lavelle, Butler Township, and imposed a fine of $67 plus $102.50 costs.

Michael Cintron, 37, Sinking Springs, Berks County, withdrew his appeal and entered a guilty plead to failing to drive at a safe speed on SR61 in Blythe Township and Russell fined him $25 plus $104.50 costs.

Divorces granted

David G. Comisac, 116 Lewis St., Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from Lynn M. Comisac, 2300 Shady Lane, New Ringgold. They were married June 7, 1985.

Kelly J. Horan was granted a divorce from Robert S. Horan Jr., both of Tremont. They were married Feb. 23, 2007.
