St. Paul Lutheran

The Rev. Richard Hinkle, a retired pastor from Weatherly, will be the guest minister at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, Oct. 16.

He will deliver the sermon during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The church's Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m. In addition to weekly gatherings, the school participants' outside related activities include a corn maze visit and hayride at Bear Rock Junction on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 3 p.m.

Adults are needed to serve as chaperones and drivers. This outing will be held weather permitting.

Future guest ministers include the Rev. Stanley Trout, a retired pastor from Macungie on Oct. 23, and the Rev. Peggy Sue Pfeffer, chaplain for Hospice St. John, Hazleton, on Oct. 30.

Pray for America

The public is invited to participate in a Rosary Rally that will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at noon at various locations.

Over 7,000 groups all over America will be praying the rosary in public places at the same time for the protection of the U.S. and a return to a Godly nation.

The rallies will be held at the following locations: Summit Hill, gazebo in Ludlow Park; Lansford, Kennedy Park and in front of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church; Nesquehoning, St. Patrick Cemetery, across from the Turkey Hill store; Beaver Meadows, in front of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church; and Tamaqua, in front of the foundation at Depot Station at the Five Points intersection.

Lansford

AMVETS to meet

The Lansford AMVETS Post will hold a meeting on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. in the post home.

Perry Shelton, commander, will be in charge of the session.

A meeting of the Home Association will be held immediately after the post meeting.

Trick or Treat

Lansford Mayor Ron Hood has announced Trick or Treat Night in the borough will be held on Monday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m.

Additional police coverage will be scheduled.

Persons welcoming children to their homes are asked to have their properties well-lighted.
