Slatington Public Library

The Slatington Public Library has books for all ages in regular print, large print and audio (on cassette and CD), movies (on VHS and DVD), as well as magazines. All can be borrowed for free. The library also has 14 computers available with Internet access, as well as 100 years worth of Slatington history available in the Slatington News (1868-1969), which can also be used for free. The library also has a new area available for programs or presentations.

Local author William L. Leickel has produced a new title "Soap Box Derby 1937-1978". His book chronicles the history of the soap box derby in Slatington, and is filled with pictures of the town and the people. The book is available at the library and at the Slatington Diner. The library also has black and white copies of his previous title "Business's along the Boulevard." Proceeds from both books benefit the library.

Preschool story hour takes place on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.

The library accepts book donations, with the exception of encyclopedias, text books, and Reader's Digest condensed books. There is always a used book sale in the library.

Library hours are Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, 9-3; Friday, 9-5; Saturday, 8-2; closed Thursday and Sunday.

Slatington Lions Club

Help is always welcome with the Slatington Lions Club trailer at the Trail Head from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
