Luzerne man jailed for Rush theft

A Freeland man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, on Monday, after he was unable to post bail on felony retail theft charges.

Richard Bonney was taken into custody by Freeland police on Monday on a warrant that was issued for his arrest. Bonney was allegedly involved in a retail theft incident at the Hometown Commons Walmart on Oct. 7.

Rush Township police arraigned Bonney before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua. Bail was set at $25,000.

Bonney was unable to post the required 10 percent and was transported to the county prison.
