October 20, 1973 Brad Geiger tosses a pair of touchdown passes on offense and intercepts a pass on defense to help Tamaqua pull out a 14-13 win over rival Panther Valley. Geiger hits Bruce Truskey with a 15-yard strike in the first half and hooks up with Rick Jones for a 61-yard scoring toss in the second half. With 4:20 left to play, the Panthers reach the end zone to cut the gap to one, but Jones and Bruce Krapf come up with a big stop on the two-point try to seal the win.
