VFW Ladies Auxiliary

The monthly meeting for the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Post home.

President Amanda Breiner will preside. All members are encouraged to attend.

Voting transportation

Any Nesquehoning residents needing a ride to the polls in order to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, may contact Frank Jacobs at (570) 669-6647 or Tony Walck at 645-7800.

Lions Club

The Nesquehoning Lions Club will meet on Monday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Lions Club building. All members are invited to attend.

Coaldale

Veterans' service

First Congregational Church, Coaldale, will honor all veterans during a service at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6. A combined choir, comprised of members of various churches in the Panther Valley, will sing. In addition, a slide program of photos of local veterans will be presented. The public is invited to attend this special service.

Also, Sunday is the last day to donate non-war related toys for the Samaritan's Purse collection. Packages will be sent to needy children all over the world. At 10 a.m. Sunday, Sunday School will be held. The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7.

Choir rehearsal is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, followed by Bible Study at 7 p.m.
