Mitten Tree
The Jim Thorpe Lioness will again be sponsoring a Mitten Tree in the Railroad Station during the Olde Time Christmas Festival. This is their 12th year collecting mittens, gloves, hats and scarves to be distributed to the community food banks and Head Start.
The members would like to thank those who participated in the past and hope you will continue to support the future endeavors. The festival will be held the first weekend in December.
Garbage collection
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, garbage pickup in the borough will take place on Friday, Nov. 25.
Service
The Thanksgiving Ecumenical worship service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church.
The service is sponsored by the Jim Thorpe Ministerium. Delivering the sermon will be the Rev. Francis Baransky.
